Heather Deyling has over 15 years of college teaching experience. Following is a small sample of work created by her students at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Drawing I. In this introductory course, students develop observational drawing skills using a variety of black and white media. Topics include gesture, contour, proportion, perspective and value.
Drawing II. In this course, students continue building observational drawing skills using both black and white and color media.
Life Drawing. In this course, students draw from a model, working to develop an understanding of proportion, balance and mass of the human figure.
Design I (2D Design). In this course, students are introduced to the elements and principles of design and create increasingly complex projects while engaging in idea development, creative problem solving and critical thinking.

Color Theory expands upon the skills and concepts developed in 2D Design with a focus on color properties, relationships, psychological implications and symbolic meanings.
